Backyard Musing#3

"Lazy Labor Day Afternoon"
As a yellow butterfly floats by a movement on the tree beside me catches my eye.
A lime green lizard is making its way down the tree trunk.
It stops as if to stare at me.

"Lazy Labor Day Afternoon"
As a yellow butterfly floats by a movement on the tree beside me catches my eye.
A lime green lizard is making its way down the tree trunk.
It stops as if to stare at me.
I don't move as it slowly turns from the lime green to a dark brown and blends in to the bark of the tree.
I want to get a picture of my lizard friend so I go in search of my camera. Upon my return the lizard and a second lizard scurry up the tree. I did get a pic when the lizard stopped for a split second.
The sun is warm as I sit in the shade of the oak tree while I record my back yard musings on this lazy day marking the end of summer.
A gentle breeze passes over a mound of fragrant white flowers covering a portion of the fence in the lower part of the yard.
The sweet smell wafts up and over me then is gone as the breeze dies down.
A squirrel travels along the top of the wooden fence toward the bird feeder where the sparrows are pecking at the seed.
They take flight as the squirrel approaches.
The temperature is hovering around the 100 degree mark. It is humid and hot.
I'm headed into the cool house!
