Painting on Antique Tree Saw, "USENER SAW BLADE"

"USENER SAW BLADE"
This is an antique saw blade that I have painted a Hill Country Scene on.
The Usener Ranch is close to Fredericksburg, Texas and the
saw painting was commissioned by the family.
The scene includes a barn on the left end, the side view of an
old GMC Pickup used on the ranch, the Usener name on a marble
state of Texas  mounted on a huge boulder at the ranch, a front view
of the GMC Pickup and finally a family of deer
on the right side of the saw. Bluebonnets fill the landscape.

Hope you enjoy viewing this commission piece. It was fun to paint.

The following photos are close ups of the scene painted on the saw blade above.

Come back soon and see new painting projects on canvas, paper or maybe
another "SAW" or who knows?

A Commissioned portrait by Eileen's husband. This was a
challenge since I don't do portraits very often.  Also
challenging with five people in the painting.

"THESE SHOES WERE MADE FOR WALKIN"

In our first watercolor class at the Upstairs Gallery in Arlington, Texas
http://www.upstairsartgallery/ this session we painted
a pair of little boy's Oxford Dress Shoes.
Martha Sue, one of the owners of the gallery kept her son's shoes from
when he was a small boy and has them on a shelf in the art room.
Our watercolor project for the class was to paint the
navy blue and white Oxford shoes.
I had taken a photo and shared with the class.
Here is my painting of the shoes and
each class member interpreted the shoes in their own way.
Below are the result of our Wed. afternoon watercolor class.  I apologize
for not getting pictures of the morning class's work.  Their paintings were
just as creative as the ones pictured below.

The classes homework was to paint one of their children's or

who will do their homework this week.  Will  let you know next Wednesday.

PORTRAIT OF JENNY

"PORTRAIT OF JENNY"
Jenny is a French Bull Dog.
Tweed, a lady who takes watercolor classes with me had
this portrait of her dog, Jenny, painted for her husband's Christmas present.
I couldn't post it until now for fear Russ might see it.
I really like painting animals especially well loved pets like Jenny!
