"CLIFFS"
by
Margie Whittington
A watercolor class project,
the texture on the cliffs was
achieved by using Plastic Wrap on
wet paint.

See the progression of the painting below.
"Cliffs"
9" x 12"
watercolor

Step One
A pencil scetch from a photo of cliffs along
a river bank

Step Two
Wet into Wet washes of blue
on the sky and the water

Step Three
Plastic wrap pulled and layed
on wet paint in the cliff areas to create texture.
The final painting at the top of this post was refined and
details added.

Come back soon to see the cliff paintings done in my watercolor
classes at The Upstairs Gallery.
