These little canvases are wrap around canvases and need no framing. They are ready to set on a fireplace mantle or hang on the wall to decorate and add Christmas Cheer!

A COLEMAN NURSERY

A mountain lodge is the theme of this nursery. From the pine trees in the corners to the bears, fish, canoes and pine cones around the room there is a woodsy outdoor feel. Even the furniture is embellished with Coleman's name and continues the outdoor theme. Notice the "Coleman" lanterns on either side of the window. This baby will enjoy the outdoors for many years to come, safe and sound in his nursery.

There are brown bears over the entrance door, the window and even in the bathroom.

An old canoe paddle over the entrance to the bath has Coleman's name lettered on it.

This baby should know his name and how to spell it at an early age. Coleman appears on the rocking chair, one of the chairs for his table and a foot stool in his room.

How 'bout those "COWBOYS" !

Trent really enjoys the Cowboy football team. I started this room last Friday and finished it on Tuesday. The Cowboys had played and won on Monday night. It was a timely painting job in celebration of the Cowboys win!!!! The walls in the room were a medium tone blue and the star, the stripe around the room and his name are all done in navy blue and white.

The large star is the center piece of the room. It is just like the star on the Cowboy's football helmet. The stripe around the ceiling is also like the stripe down the center of the Cowboy helmet.

Trent's name is done in bold block letters painted in navy blue with a white outline and then another outline of navy blue.

The triple stripe around the room is like the center stripe on the Cowboy helmet.

This took a while to paint but added the finishing touch to this football themed room.

Can't you just hear the cheers for the Cowboys coming from Trent's room as he supports his favorite team.

ACRYLIC CLASS AT THE UPSTAIRS GALLERY

On the fourth Friday of each month I have a class at the Upstairs Gallery in Arlington, Texas and we paint with acrylic paints on canvas. This last Friday we painted a landscape with golden aspen trees. Although we painted the same subject matter each person in the class adds their individual touches to each of their paintings. It was a fun day and we all enjoyed the results.

Here are pictures of each painting produced.

Cathy painted her trees more green as they are in the summer. You can feel the breeze stirring the leaves.

Claire's painting shows the detail of the trunks of the trees and the foliage turning to a warmer golden color in the fall.

Marilyn's painting shows the light filtering through the trees with the glow of fall and a crisp chill in the air.

Joan's trees have the feel of a quiet and peaceful autumn eve with the aspen leaves shimmering in the light at the end of the day.

Ellie's trees are vibrant and colorful with lots of magenta and yellow foliage painted with spontaneity and energy.

Sally's painting looks like a French impressionist's rendition of trees with lots of blues and purples with bold brush strokes dancing on the canvas.

Everyone did such an outstanding job, I wanted to spotlight them and show off their hard work.
Friday was a fun day of painting and camaraderie between artists and friends.

Come back soon to see what is happening in painting class or see what is being painted on the canvas or a wall!
